Happy Holidays

Happy Holiday everybody! This is my favorite time of the year. I love the brisk morning breeze and the smell of the firewood in the morning. This is also the time when I sit down to reflect my year.

This year especially was a year to remember. I have so much to be thankful for. What made the top of the list is my new addition Nathan (aka Nate Nate) to our family. He is now 2 months old and he is as cute as can be :) I am biased of course since he is my child...but you tell me!

His birth has made my life so much better. When Nathan was in May's tummy, I always thought to myself, how in the world can I love another child as much as I love Calvin? This has always been a mystery to me. Once Nathan was born, the answer became very clear to me. You can. You don't stop loving your first child or love him less, but your heart grows bigger to have love for the two of them.

I am also thankful for my family. We have been a very close family from the beginning. This year was a tremendously rough year for us. My father passed away because of liver cancer. It was a sudden shock to all of us. I was travelling in Switzerland with May when I heard the news that my father was sick. We had to cut the trip short and head back to the states where I can attend to him. He left us shortly after a month has passed. Although this is sad, the good news is that he did not really suffer for a long time. We as a family stayed together and this event has made all of us closer. Dad will forever be in my heart.

May and I were in Switzerland this year. We were able to get away alone! with no kids!! Thanks to my mom who willingly took care of Calvin for us. We travelled all over Switzerland. Switzerland is one of the nicest countries that I have ever been to. May and I travelled all over Europe, and Switzerland is one of our top 5. The people were so nice and the country is so beautiful. Here are a few pictures of Switzerland:

This is the view of our first location called Lauterbrunnen valley. We stayed at a small hotel owned by an American. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We didn't even want to leave after the trip.

This is the view we have from our room. Although our hotel was not a 5 star hotel, we were extremely comfortable. Think about waking up to this EVERY morning?! How can you not love this place....sigh......I wish I was there again.

This was our humble room. The room was small, but it was soooo comfortable. You realized how much you DON'T need. There were no TVs nor telephone. We were just one with nature.

What is Switzerland without hitting the Swiss Alps. We took a train all the way up to the
Jungfraujoch. This is the highest point in Europe. It was AMAZING. We were about 11,000+ feet up. I even felt altitude sickness...eeek!

We didn't stay put in Lauterbraunnen Vally, instead, we travelled all over Switzerland. We stopped by the west side of Switzerland (Montreux) where most people spoke French. No, I don't speak French but I took 3 years of French in high school. I just realized how bad my French is!

Our last stop is Lucerne. Lucerne was beautiful, but I still prefer the country side.

Lastly, I am thankful for my health and my ability to do what I love. Photography is my passion and I am so grateful to be able to share my passion with all of you.

Happy Holidays and be safe!

Augie
