More Canon toys?

Digital cameras are like disposable paper plates these days. Canon comes up with a few new cameras each year and they are better and better in quality. The problem is that these cameras are so much more expensive compared to the film cameras, catching up with the latest trend usually mean you have to chuck up a hefty amount. If you don't, you won't be getting the best images you can get from the industry.

I have to say, the latest Canon announcement to the 1D Mark III (picture below) is absolutely amazing. What makes it amazing for me is the large viewing screen and the dust cleaner. If you know a bit of digital SLRs, you know that sensors do collect dust and there's no way you know it is there until you look at the final images on your screen - and this is at the end of the day. This can be scary since you are out in the field working all day, then when you get back to your studio, you realized that the pictures have dust particles on them. Thank god it is fixable, but still, takes forever to do.

I shoot with a Canon 1D Mark II and a 5D (full frame) these days. I find this set up very good because the 1D Mark II offers me the flexibility to shoot in more extreme weather (i.e., rain), also, I get the 9 frames per second speed (not used often), while the 5D offers me higher resolution (12 MP) and shallower depth of field...and of course, the full frame for my wide angle shots.

So I really have to think about whether this is a possible upgrade or not?! .... decisions, decisions...
