Life in Hong Kong

OK, I got myself a brand new compact flash card reader so now I am able to upload my pictures online for you. Enjoy!

Here is a picture of the Hong Kong International Airport. I find this place very contemporary. The ceiling is very detailed and very symmetrical.

This is the inside of the airport where we pick up our luggages. It was so empty at 6:30am!!

This is what I love about Singapore airline...each seat has its own screen. There are over 90 channels to choose from. Also, the flight attendants are extremely nice to you.

Meal time, and I love to have a glass of OJ to go with my food.

Here is my meal on the flight, not great, but definitely not bad. Hey! at least I GET a meal ;)

Here is a shot of Causeway Bay. Causeway Bay is the most popular area in the Hong Kong Island side. I actually spent a few years around here when I was young. Look at all the red taxis.

Starbucks is a big thing here...go figure! People spent hours laying around Starbucks.

This is the Hong Kong Starbucks counter. Very organized. Also, there's much more to choose from compared to the US.

Well, Hong Kong is only so big. We travelled to Macau where my parents were born. Macau used to be a very quaint and slow town. Not today! Macau has become the Las Vegas of Asia. Here are a few shots of the Ruinas de Sao Paulo:

I was bored waiting for a boat to Macau so I wandered around the terminal. I couldn't find anything to take but I found a shot of the terminal where people are departing their boats.

Here is a line at the immigration. Going from Hong Kong to Macau requires to go through immigration.

Here is Causeway Bay at night:

Looks like the order of the pictures got messed up, but here is another shot of Macau. Macau was dominated by the Portugese so buildings are very "European-like".

This is absolutely yummy. These are almond cakes. They are tiny bite-sized treats. I can sit there and pop them in my mouth all day long.

Another specialty in Macau is jerky. They jerk anything you can think of. Beef, pork...anything they can jerk. It is tasty.
