Post Ranch Inn

On the "PCH" day (2 posts ago), I had the privilege to dine at one of the nicest hotel - Post Ranch Inn. The restaurant inside the property of this hotel is called the Sierra Mar. If you have not heard or been to the Post Ranch Inn, you should try to take a drive down there (off highway 1) to see it yourself. It is absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! This boutique hotel literally hangs off the cliff with a great view of the pristine pacific ocean. The hotel is one of the most exclusive hotels in the area where they focus primarily on the guests' privacy. Everywhere was blocked off to "outsiders" like me :) They want to make sure their guests feel private and at peace when they stay at their property.

OK, back to the food :) The food was exquisite. I had their prix fixe dinner menu and everything on that menu was yum.

Here are some pictures that I took on the day of the dinner.

Here is the entrance of this place. Very low key. Nothing loud screaming Post Ranch Inn

Inside the Sierra Mar restaurant. Every seat has a view of the pacific.

Here is something little they offered to everyone. It was so delicious. Don't ask me what it was, but something to do with crab on top of some awesome tasting pastry.

Here is my first course. Abalone...OMG, it melted in my mouth.

Yes, that is where the restaurant is. Right off the cliff like I said.

Another view of the restaurant. All glass. All ocean.

This is the lobster soup with aioli (I think that is how it is spelled) with a seared scallop.

The picture here is a filet mignon. The spinach was seasoned perfectly. The other side of the plate (where it is out of focus - deliberately to achieve the artistic look ... heh) Man oh man, this is the first time I had Kobe beef (well, this one is from the US, not from Kobe Japan), but it was so tender. On top of the Kobe beef rib, it was a piece of nicely seared foie gras.

Beautiful sun set after dinner. Great way to end the night.

LOL even though I'm allergic to shellfish and mullosks and don't eat beef? This post made me *drool* that food looks so good!

Really love the kitchen and sunset shots too.

Looks like you're having a great trip!
